Dr. Kenneth Bloom
Board Certified

in Foot Surgery

of Podiatric Surgery

Dr. Kenneth Bloom completed his premedical curriculum at the College of William and Mary. Following a student internship at the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Bloom was accepted to the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.

Upon completion of his doctorate, Dr. Bloom was selected from over 237 applicants to participate in the three-year Podiatric Surgical Residency Program at the Washington Hospital Center. During his third year of residency, Dr. Bloom was named a Chief Resident and focused his skills on reconstructive foot surgery and sports medicine.

Dr. Bloom is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Bloom is an active member of the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society and the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is certified in the use of extracorporeal shockwave for the treatment of heel pain (plantar fasciitis) and internal fixation for the foot and ankle.

Dr. Bloom enjoys his family time with wife, Stephanie, and their sons, Charlie and Sam. He also likes distance running and the outdoors.

 


 

Dr. Kurt Massey

Dr. Kurt Massey received his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from Temple University’s School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed a podiatric surgery residency and served as chief resident at Temple University Health Science Center and Temple University Children’s Hospital. This residency program is one of the most rigorous and academic in the country.

Dr. Massey held research assistant positions to professors at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Massey is double board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in foot surgery and also reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Some of his special areas of training include: trauma, external fixation, pediatric and adult reconstructive surgery, arthroscopic surgery, and revisional surgery from regional referrals. He also has a special interest in pediatric lower extremity deformities, providing surgical treatment for a range of problems including flatfoot deformity, club foot, and metatarsus adductus. He applies conservative treatments for all pediatric patients as a first line of treatment, including serial casting, bracing, and orthotics.

Dr Massey lives in Mooresville with his wife, Heather. They enjoy many outdoor activities together, and spend a lot of time chasing their young son. Family time together is their favorite hobby. On free weekends, they may be found at the beach, in the mountains, or fishing. Heather is also trying to teach Dr Massey to hit a golf ball, but he isn’t very good at it.
